Introduction:

Following the runaway success of the 2020 Grateful Dead x Nike SB Dunk Lows, this three-way partnership fuses the psychedelic spirit of the legendary jam band with the collegiate pride of the Oregon Ducks, delivering one of the most unexpected yet exciting sneaker drops of the year.

Design Details:

Leaked online after a now-deleted post from streetwear retailer Bodega, the 'Grateful Ducks' immediately sparked hype across social media. Built on the timeless Air Max 90 silhouette, the sneaker channels both Duck pride and Deadhead nostalgia. The upper arrives in crisp white canvas, accented by a rainbow tie-dye mudguard and contrast stitching, a nod to the band’s signature aesthetic.

Oregon’s Green Shock and Yellow Strike add pops of school spirit on the TPU eyelets and heel panels, while the standout detail is a fuzzy lightning bolt Swoosh, calling back to the 2020 Dunks that sent resale prices soaring past $1,000.

Branding details are where this collab truly shines. A rubber keychain reimagines the Oregon Ducks mascot in the style of the Dead’s iconic dancing bears. At the same time, the band’s legendary Stealie skull logo makes an appearance, ensuring this release feels authentic to Deadheads and Ducks fans alike.

Release Info:

Retailing at a reported $140, the ‘Grateful Ducks’ are expected to sell out instantly, with resale likely to follow the skyrocketing pattern of the 2020 Dunks, which originally cost $110 but now command several hundred dollars on the secondary market.

Though Nike has yet to officially confirm the drop, sneaker insiders are pointing to an October 24th release, timed with the University of Oregon’s ‘tie-dye out’ event and the Ducks’ game against Wisconsin at Autzen Stadium, a venue steeped in Grateful Dead history.
